About

The right fit for you

Although we may not be able to control all of our circumstances, we can control how we choose to respond to them and in them. I am devoted to providing a safe and respectful atmosphere within which, together, we may explore and meet your goals. I am particularly qualified in helping those with grief and loss, chronic illness, reproductive issues, questions of gender and sexuality, military personnel and their families, systemic trauma, attachment trauma, and non-traditional families (eg. blended, adopted, foster or guardianship). I have also successfully helped those with problems including eating disorders, neurodivergence, substance use, those with disabilities, relational stress and conflict, anxiety, panic, depression, and personality disorders. As a licensed marriage and family therapist with experience in art therapy, I am able to collaboratively help individuals, families and couples of all ages and backgrounds. I take a compassionate approach while engaging and empowering you towards processing, exploring and developing a deeper understanding and healthier relationship with yourself. I view my work through a systemic, relational, holistic and social justice lens while holding a safe and accepting space for our work together. I have personal lived experience with ADHD and neurodivergence, chronic illness with autoimmune disorders, reproductive issues, exploration of gender and sexual identity, grief and loss, and attachment trauma. I also have family experience of being in a non-traditional family, having loved ones who also struggle with their own mental health and substance dependence, and family members who are veterans and actively listed in the military. I received my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy with an emphasis in clinical art therapy from Loyola Marymount University in 2017. It is normal to feel nervous and intimidated about starting therapy and finding the right therapist fit for you. I am here to help, no matter where you are in your journey. I look forward to joining you and witnessing your story. Please feel free to reach out and schedule a free initial 15 minute consultation! IG @khaynestherapy
